Outreach

Outreach ministries are a vital part of church life at Faith Church. We collect school supplies for needy children in our local elementary school each September. Women of the church make mittens, hats and scarves which are distributed at Christmas time at the local school. School and health kits are collected each year and given to Church World Service to be distributed to disaster areas around the world. Each Christmas and Easter season we have a seasonal Saturday morning event for children open to the public. Food drives are held periodically, and donations of food are made to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Cupboard in Boston, the Bread of Life Outreach Center in Colden, and the Springville Food Pantry in Springville. The St. Pauly Textile clothing donation drop off shed in our parking lot collects about twenty tons of clothing each year for distribution to economically disadvantaged families across the county and around the world.

Other Special Outreach Ministries:

Grace for the Journey

If you are or have been a caregiver for a loved one, please come and join us. We welcome all who are in need of conversation, support, or just a time of friendship. For questions contact the church office.

Grief Share

This group is designed for individuals who have experienced the loss of a significant person in their lives. The group uses a DVD format and has a weekly devotional workbook. The groups are scheduled in 13-week increments, once in the fall and once in the spring. For more information please contact the church office.

Called to Care

This is a ministry to people within Faith Church who because of health issues or other concerns need the help and support of the church. This program involves visitation to those who are homebound or residents of an adult care facility or in the hospital. Call to Care partners also assist the pastor at memorial services and weddings.

Health Care Ministry

People of Faith Church also help to serve the health care needs of people within the congregation by offering educational opportunities, assisting with emergency needs and helping to answer questions individuals have about their health issues. Blood pressure checks are scheduled about once a month after worship services. Red Cross Blood Donation drives are held occasionally.

We Also Participate in a Number of Other Local Mission Groups:

Churches In Action (CIA)

Churches In Action is a local ecumenical organization that seeks to facilitate mission activities amongst churches in the area. The mission of CIA is to serve our neighbors wherever we see need, both inside and outside the Christian community. Activities include the Crop Walk, food drive, assembling school kits and work projects to assist service organizations.

Love In the Name of Christ

The mission of Love INC is to help churches help people. A main function of Love INC is to serve as a screening and referral organization to help connect people in need with a service agency or church volunteer who may help. We assist Love INC especially in its Family to Family Christmas Program and the Kettle Drive in December.

New York Help Honduras

The Sunday school at Faith Church supports a mission in La Laguana, Honduras that is primarily concerned with the educational and health care needs of children. Monies collected in Sunday school are used by volunteer mission workers to purchase supplies, educational materials, etc.

Feed More WNY & Bread of Life Food Pantry

Faith Church allocates a portion of its annual benevolent budget to support local food programs, including the Bread of Life in Colden, NY, and Feed More WNY.

Hearts and Hands

Some of our members volunteer with Hearts and Hands to provide transportation services for the elderly in the Boston area.
